GrandPerspective GrandPerspective is a small utility application for macOS that graphically shows the disk usage within a file system. Even with hundreds of thousands of files, it's really simple to see what the storage hogs are. The larger the file, the larger the rectangular area of the grandperspective window it takes up. But whereas whatsize produces an interactive report in list form, grandperspective shows you visually. Whatsize does something similar to grandperspective - you tell it which folder or storage device to analyze, and it comes back with a report about what's taking up all the space in that folder or on that device. I have used (and appreciated) apps like whatsize in the past. The reason why it's so great i s that it shows you visually. I love this app! it's far and away the best, most intuitive way to figure out what's really clogging up your mac's storage (hard disk, ssd, etc.). This is the Finder icon on your dock: When you click on it, it should display a window of the files on your MBP.Important: If you use an older version of Mac OS X you might want to download an older version that will work. There is another app for macOS named.Disk Inventory X but as I am writing this, the latest version was released back in 2005 so I am not sure on which Mac OS X or macOS version runs correctly.To install the app into you Applications, simply drag the GrandPerspective app icon from the opened disk image to your Application folder in finder.
